Q: How long does the course take?
A: The course has been designed to take at least 50 hours to complete
from start to finish. Different students study at different paces, however,
so actual studying time varies widely.
Q: Will the course get me a job teaching English overseas?
A: Probably. Your chance of employment depends on many factors, most
of which aren't under the control of the Institute. Having a TESOL Certificate
will certainly make you more attractive to potential employers, and
will definitely allow you to command a higher salary.
Q: Will the Institute find me a job overseas?
A: No. The Institute doesn't find people jobs, but we
know good people who do. Contact us about
it.
We also provide employment advice and a private job listings
database in our moderated
teacher forums.
Q: How much is the
course?
A: CND $575.
Q: Can I get a discount? Can I pay you later? Can I pay in Installments?
A: The Institute does not provide discounts, but we do provide bursaries.
If you choose to enroll using the Happy Schools bursary, you save $100
on your International TESOL Institute registration fees and the Institute
will pay your admission fees for Happy Schools. If you are currently
teaching, your e m ployer m ay subsidize your enroll m ent fees.
Q: What is Happy Schools and why are you offering a $100 bursary?
A: Happy Schools is a safeguard in the ESL industry. Unfortunately,
due to the nature of ESL teaching, many felons and sexual predators
seek employment in this industry. If you decide to register with Happy
Schools, you will have an outstanding warrant and sex crime background
check completed in conjunction with the RCMP and F B I. The checks
are completely confidential and your name will not be used in any other
manner or passed/sold to any other third party. Happy Schools was created
to protect children and students from violent and potentially dangerous
individuals, not people who wish to teach and move on with their life.
The Institute supports this program by offering all students a $100
bursary on their enrollment fees in the hopes that all teachers in
every ESL classroom are there to teach, learn, have fun, make money
and nothing more.
Q:
Can I get help with the course if I get confused?
A: Yes. Qualified instructors will answer any questions teachers may
have on the Institute's moderated teacher
forums for the benefit of all. Additionally, their e-mail addresses
will be available to all teachers who wish to ask for academic and professional
guidance.
Q: What if I fail the course?
A: Don't fret: you can take the final exam as many times as you wish
at no extra charge, or get on the Fast Track.
We're determined to get you certified, and will assist you in every
step to achieve that goal.
Q: Is the International TESOL Institute certificate recognized by
employers?
A: Yes. Employers from around the world know and trust our TESOL
certification.
